Whether or not a bad habit can be completely changed depends on many factors, including the individual's psychological condition, the environment they are in, the support and education they receive. Although some former offenders may commit crimes again, many people live a positive and law-abiding life after reforming. Some support and intervention measures, such as psychological counseling, education and training, employment support and stable social relationships, can greatly reduce the chance of reoffending. Personal willingness and effort are also key factors. Therefore, it should not be generalized that former offenders usually will not reform. It is closely related to their background and the correctional measures taken. Successful examples show that many people are able to achieve lasting changes through appropriate help and personal efforts.
