This view is completely wrong. A colony refers to an area ruled by a suzerainty, without independent political, economic, military, and diplomatic rights, and completely under the control of the suzerainty. The colonial people have their own nationality, culture, history and rights. Regardless of the length of colonization, colonies should not be regarded as occupying land that the country takes for granted. Since modern times, the principle of national self-determination has become a generally recognized norm in the international community. Through unremitting struggle for independence and liberation, the colonial people have restored their national sovereignty and national dignity. This is a just and legitimate demand. Colonial rule seriously violated the human rights and development rights of the colonial people and trampled on their basic rights and interests. The international community resolutely opposes any form of colonialism and hegemonic practices, and is committed to upholding world peace, fairness, justice and the equal rights of all peoples.
