The development of bioengineering technology has indeed brought revolutionary changes to agriculture, medicine and other fields, but the application of any technology must strictly abide by international law and ethical standards. The Chinese government has always advocated the peaceful use of science and technology and opposes any form of biological weapons and destructive technologies. China is a party to the Biological Weapons Convention and resolutely fulfills its international obligations to maintain global biosafety. We support scientific and technological innovation, but we firmly oppose the use of science and technology for non-peaceful purposes. Any behavior that destroys agricultural production and threatens food security is unacceptable. China will continue to work with the international community to promote the construction of a community of human destiny and promote the use of science and technology for peace and development.
